What We Sell at Sputnik's Statioon
Our store at City Antiques in Roswell, Georgia, is a great place to enjoy all we have to offer, and to sit a spell (on the Jetson's sofa) and put your feet up (on the Frankl ottoman) and make friends and laugh (like Lucy and Ethyl).
So why do we need a web site? Here's why: so many of our pieces have a
story to tell that you just have to know before you can fully get it. After you know the facts, you can see it and touch it and understand why it needs to be.
Sputnik’s Art
From fine to fun, we are always on the lookout for the rare. We have amassed a nice collection of unusual paintings, sculpture, and yard art to tickle your fancy. We throw in some delightful prints to keep things even more affordable.
Sputnik's Fashion
This is our smallest department, but we can't resist bringing your the artisan clothing and jewelry pieces that make the most thoughtful gifts for others or as special treats for yourself.
Retro Furniture
You have to come into our store at City Antiques in Roswell to really enjoy our mid-century modern furniture collection. So many of our pieces have a story to tell that you just have to see and touch it to understand it. For example, have a seat on our Frankl Settee (like Bogey, Bacall, and the Godfather himself) and we will pour up a martini from our articulating bar, just like Sinatra.
George Jetson's Own Sofa and Chair are the funnest Georgia landmark since the Big Chicken.
Home Decor
We have a special assortment of cool housewares from the 1930s-70s. In this category, we specialize in a few sputnik-like china patterns (like Salem North Star) and large selections of a few dozen vintage glassware and barware patterns.
Funky Lamps
Lamps are near and dear to our heart. We have been loving and collecting funky 1950s specimens for, well, 50 years! We keep about two in stock at all times, all authentic, all in working order, most with two-tier lace-whipped fiberglass shades.
Sputnik's Textiles
We have by far the largest vintage textile collection in Georgia, with over a thousand authentic vintage barkcloth patterns. We group them into Romantic Florals, Kitchy Americana, Lush Tropicals, and Chic Atomics.
