What is Sputnik’s Station?

  Sputnik’s Station is the creation of Rebecca Thomson, a galaxy cruiser who just happened to be born October 4, 1957, the day the launching of a tiny Russian satellite rocked the world.  All her life, Rebecca has been orbiting her world on a quest seeking unique stuff.   She loves the odd, the disenfranchised, the things that create balance in an off-balance world.   She has a knack for finding old junk that has much to give as a one-of-a-kind treasure if only given a chance at redemption.  

Sputnik’s Station is a little store packed with this kind of stuff.   It is stuff that just feels right.   You know what I mean.   It’s that thing in you that says I’ll know it when I see it.   Here you will find things that grace a home and tell others who you are, without words.   Only the enlightened few will get it.  We over-hear them every day saying things like:   “I love this.   Where did you find this?   How do you do this?  How long has it taken you…”   The answer to that last one is a half-century.   Everything here has come via one long amazing journey.
